Bolts consist of 3 major body part – head, body and tail. Head part of bolts is always 6-faced hexagonal shaped solid head, which makes it easy to tighten with help of wrench or strike with help of hammer. SMO 254 Fasteners is a super austenitic stainless steel alloy which contains low level of Carbon-Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum-Nitrogen in its composition.

SMO 254 Fasteners | UNS S31254 | WNR 1.4547, are used to make a non-permanent joint between two or more components to provide strength and stability to the joints, which can be easily dismantled without damaging the components.

UNS S31254 Fasteners possess excellent resistance to pitting, stress cracking, fatigue corrosion and crevice corrosion. Fasteners 254 SMO has PERN of >42.5, and exhibits outstanding workability with high ductility and impact strength. It is tougher in comparison to usual austenitic grades with strength almost twice that of 300 stainless steel series. SMO 254 Fasteners are generally applicable in high chloride conditions. It has little risk of carbide precipitation during heating and has high thermal expansion and low thermal conductivity

Super Duplex is an also known as Super Duplex 2507. Super Duplex 2507 is designed to handle highly corrosive conditions and situations were high strength is required. High molybdenum, chromium and nitrogen content in Super Duplex 2507 help the material withstand pitting and crevice corrosion. The material is also resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, to erosion corrosion, to corrosion fatigue, to general corrosion in acids. This alloy has good weldability and very high mechanical strength.
